Eileen Gatt’s combined love of jewellery and nature inspired her to undertake a new project—to develop an innovative centre for ethical jewellery making in the Highlands. It will provide work space and offer courses to educate and inspire.

Eileen aims to play her part in protecting the environment and the wildlife that inspire her. Whilst collaborating with charities such as the RSPB, she creates pieces that raise awareness of their sustainability projects, such as bee preservation and puffin tagging programmes.

Her new work incorporates gem stones that play an integral role in the narrative behind her works. The glistening white druzy’s become snow-scapes behind migrating geese, hexagonal citrine’s become honey comb amidst clusters of bees, and aquamarines become gigantic icebergs.
