Meet the Maker

Adele Brereton

Adele’s work is based on the process of hand raising; creating tactile jewellery and objects that have simplicity of form and subtle texture. She is inspired by items found whilst mud-larking at the River Thames. Irregular shapes are translated from broken shards of Victorian clay smoking pipes. These discarded man-made objects have eroded to an almost organic aesthetic and it is this notion that is explored within her pieces.

Adele explores the human narrative of London’s Industrial past, referencing the redundant finds in her jewellery pieces and sculptural objects by combining precious metals with porcelain or found materials.
