Linda Robertson

The inspiration for Linda’s work comes from the architectural landscape of the city but even the humble drain cover in the street, has inspired an ‘Olive Bin’.  The city is a functional environment, a collection of contrasting forms, materials and textures.  She sees buildings as functional containers, vessels holding objects and people, so she reflects this in bringing urban architecture to the table, through her functional silverware.

Linda’s work is mainly in sheet metal creating restrained geometric forms using techniques such as fabricating, spinning, scoring and folding.  These forms are enhanced with photo-etching or inlaying of fine gold. On occasion Linda has also used concrete to create her ‘Houses for Fruit’.
