Misun Won

Misun Won’s jewellery is inspired by Korean traditional patchwork wrapping cloth ‘Jogakbo’ and its scientific interpretation with fractal geometry. She hand pierces patterns from a single sheet of silver in order to celebrate the meaningful ritual of the patchwork making process. She mainly uses silver, gold and precious or semi-precious stones. Misun also uses colourful Korean braided cord to highlight her Korean influences for making modern contemporary jewellery.

She has also perfected the ancient Korean gilding technique called ‘Keumboo’ (24ct gold foil) to emphasis the dynamic rhythmical structures in her jewellery.
