Jessica Jue

Jessica Jue’s most recent work has focused on a collection of hand raised sculptural silverware and jewellery. She explores the themes of balance and harmony deriving from the Chinese ideology of breath energy. With these concepts, she attempts to create a sense of movement and rhythm within her collection. This is accentuated by the fluidity of form, allowing a visual narrative to pass between all her pieces.

Jessica’s visual inspiration is often drawn from organic themes such as carnivorous plants, allowing her to look into curved and playful shapes. She works mainly with precious metals and manipulates the forms through techniques of raising, cutting and bending, while exploring various textures.
