Shona Guthrie

Shona Guthrie

Shona’s work is fundamentally inspired by her surrounding environment. She uses photography to capture its colours and textures, the richness of which she aims to emulate in her work.

The pieces she makes are evocative of a place. Using found, natural objects cast in to silver, her jewellery is reflective and reminiscent, aiming to capture the essence and sensitivity of a location.

As an employee of the jewellery department at Glasgow School of Art she is able to do her own casting. This connection to her technical process furthers the narrative and tangibility of her pieces.
